My dreams came true, and I visited the Canadian Rockies in July 2023. It was breathtakingly beautiful! I started on a solo backpacking trip in Banff from Lake Louside to Lake Moraine. Then, I met with one of my favorite friends and photographers, Buffy Goodman. She lives in Canada, and we backpacked, camped, and road-tripped all through the Rockies.
It was so adventurous! I loved every minute of it. The sheer grandeur of the landscapes leaves you endlessly in awe. Admiring alpine wildflowers, swimming in every alpine lake, and picking berries, it’s perfect. It’s pure joy and pure ass-kicking. There’s nothing like backpacking in the wilderness.
True Story: I hauled my Canon R5 DSLR to Canada but only used my iPhone. Backpacking was tough enough, and I didn’t want to carry the extra weight of my camera and a heavy L series lens. All the photos below are iPhone.
