This past weekend I photographed an awesome and hilarious wedding alongside a wonderful photographer Ruthie Hauge. One thing that made this wedding stand out was that it had literally the BEST first look of all time.
Krista and JJ both work at Epic and met at a trivia night (so cute!). Krista is a goofball and was realllly excited to surprise JJ with their first look. She knew she wanted to dress up as something unique, so she went to Amazon, scoured the costume options, and settled on dressing as…. a lobster. Because WHY NOT (?!?!) and because it is AMAZING (!!!).
As you can see from the photos below, JJ was blindfolded, led to a field, and left to meet his surprising wife/lobster. It was like he was left to fend for himself, blind to the surroundings much like the poor prey of the lobster. (I’m not sure what lobsters eat, but I bet at least one of its prey is blind).
The experience and the resulting photos really reminded me of why I love being a photographer so much: people are quirky and interesting and love each other so intensely- all at the same time.
