Kallie and Pedram are a fabulous couple who had a very unique and beautiful wedding, which I am super pumped they allowed me to photograph. The wedding was at turns simple and sophisticated. Kallie and Pedram have been together forever and have that enviable style of love and comfort that comes from knowing someone since you were still a kid.
Photos of their wedding were also featured in a blog on Wedding Planner, the major wedding guide and planning event for Wisconsin! As you can see the Planner chose to showcase different pictures than I did. We have different tastes, but that shows you how epic this wedding really was- so many fabulous moments and details!
Without further adieu…here’s Kallie graciously telling us all about her wedding!
Our love story:
We met our sophomore year of high school and were instantly attracted to each other, but we didn’t start dating until right after we graduated. Since then we’ve adopted two cats and a dog, bought a house, and traveled as much as possible. Pedram proposed to me on top of Mount Etna in Sicily right before our 10-year anniversary!
Our favorite part(s) of the wedding:
We loved our first look! The day went by so quickly, it was nice to have some time where it was just the two of us. That being said… we will always cherish getting to celebrate such a special day with our family and friends.
Where our wedding was, and how we chose the venue(s):
Our wedding was at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art in Madison, WI (on our 11-year dating anniversary). We loved that it offered the perfect outdoor space for our summer wedding and also had the modern vibe we were going for. It also happens to be located in an area that had a lot of meaning for both of us. Pedram’s family had a business on State Street while he was growing up and we still vend at the Dane County Farmers Market today.
What was definitely worth it:
Everything! We wouldnβt change a thing. (But if I had to be more specific then definitely the photography, food, and venue.)
Our greatest challenge for planning the wedding:
Staying organized and on budget!
Resources that helped us along the way:
The Knot – They have a lot of excellent resources and checklists that are free! Also great for inspiration: Pinterest, Brides, Style Me Pretty, and Wedding Wire. And of course family and friends!
Advice for other people planning their wedding:
Donβt let other people’s opinions pressure you into something you donβt want. Your wedding day should be about you and your partner β thatβs it! Try not to get wrapped up in the glitz and glam of Pinterest and Instagram- it’s easy to do but definitely not what your wedding is about!
We chose Maureen Cassidy Photography because:
When we were looking for a wedding photographer her work immediately caught our eye. Her photos are so full of life and love; they just pull you into the moment. Our first meeting with Maureen confirmed what we already knew β she had to be our photographer! Maureen is fun, friendly and all around amazing! Her energy and positivity are contagious and her skill behind the lens is phenomenal! We cannot recommend her highly enough!!
**(Quick note from Maureen: These were the coolest dads I’ve ever seen- they danced together for a long time in the goofiest ways possible!)
