Maureen Cassidy Photography {madison wisconsin} photographer PUBLISHED

I was so happy the other day when a friend called to say that she  saw that I was published online on a popular blog in Madison, Wisconsin. The blog is an awesome resource for raising young children in Madison.  So far I have found Madison, Wisconsin to be a DREAM place for my kids!  On a national level Madison, Wisconsin always makes it to the top 10 places to raise a child.  Each week as a family we are flooded with amazing opportunities activities to do with our 2 children.  Besides that the people of Wisconsin are so friendly, kind and relaxed.  I love the mid-western spirit!  Plus Madison, Wisconsin has taken me in a professional photographer.  I arrived last April and I have been happily busy with photographing sessions and meeting lots of photographer friends.

Thank you so much to the clients that took the time to write a review of me in Raising Madison blog.

I am so behind on blogging my photography business.  I am actually looking forward to taking photographs to slow down (although it will still be awhile!).

For the past couple of months I have been attending a local photography educational group started by the awesome, Mandi Hanberman from Red Gecko Studio.  She is a member of collages.net and collages sponsor the gathering of photographers.  I have really loved meeting local Madison and surrounding area photographers and learning from them. Since then I have become a member of Collages and have really appreciated how it’s services really help the work flow and ordering of prints for the weddings I do.

Collages.net features websites of it’s members each week and this week I was selected! YEAHphotographer madison wisconsin

What to Wear to a Fall Mini-Session

Vibrant Colors: For Fall portraits, it is usually best to wear vibrant colors that and would match well with yellow leaves, greens of grass, and if lucky red leaves.
Try to choose a color that compliments your skin or matches your eyes.

Layering:  I love layers. The layered look photographs so well and looks timelessly stylish.  Adding texture (like knit wear) is perfect to emphasize the smoothness of skin.

Accessorize:  Like layering, accessories add dimension to images and can help bring out your personality.
Think about bringing your favorite scarves, jackets, sweaters, hats, shoes/boots (or go barefoot!) & jewelery.

Make up: I encourage adults to wear their normal amount of makeup – or more if you’re interested in a glamorous look. Children often look best with their natural rosiness.

Heather

Love everything about the flag shot!

these are very fun!

Such playful and fun maternity portraits! I love them ALL.

What a great maternity session! It’s so fun and intimate. I just love it!

While the motives, I’m sure, were patriotic and innocent, the American flag should never be worn. It is disrespectful. For more information, view http://www.ushistory.org/betsy/flagcode.htm.

Have a nice day!

Wedding {Madison Wisconsin} Wedding photography by Maureen Cassidy Photography

These two amazing people live in New York City, the groom works for the stock market and the bride is an amazing pastry chef who carries her knives everywhere, even in the bridal sweet.  Surprisingly she needed to use them so much! Who needs scissors when a lady can use a pear knife.  They love to travel and regularly would go away from NYC on weekend adventures.  They landed once in Hawley PA at the Settlers Inn.  The Settlers Inn hosts the best food in the area as well as a lovely atmosphere for all there guests.  When the bride and groom arrived here a couple of years ago, they soon knew that they wanted to have their wedding there.  It was a small wedding when close family and friends.  The weather was PERFECT.  These two certainly desired the perfect wedding that they got!
